Federal Public Housing

The Federal Public Housing Program gives safe rental homes for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Local public housing agencies, like the Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA), oversee these homes and make sure that they are affordable for residents. In Hawaii, the HPHA manages 5,406 federal public housing units across the state.
